Kinabalu Park Safari
New, Improved and Highly Recommended! Spend 2 days exploring all the richness that Kinabalu Park and Poring hot springs have to offer including the Poring Hot Springs, one-of-a-kind fish foot spa at Luanti, Kinabalu Mountain Garden, and the World War 2 memorial. You won't be rushed at all this tour as we take our time to thoroughly enjoy Kinabalu Park. Stay overnight in Kundasang and 4 meals included.
Expected time of departure: 0800hrs
Drive 2 hours overland to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. We make a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market to sample local fruits in season and to stretch our legs. Continue the drive to Poring, east of Kinabalu Park HQ to walk amidst tropical lowland rainforests leading up to the treetop canopy walkways. Enjoy lunch, before visiting the Kipungit Waterfall, stopping for a soak here or in the rejuvenating hot sulphur public pools. If the weather permits, treat your foot to a delightful but very ticklish fish massage at the Moroli River in Luanti which will almost certainly leave you in giggles. Overnight stay in Kundasang (twin bedded). (Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, we visit the Kundasang War Memorial Park to learn about Sabah's WWII history and for great photos with the majestic Mount Kinabalu (if weather permits). Thereafter, we proceed to the Education Centre and Mountain Garden in Kinabalu Park Headquarters. If weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails to explore the cool montane forest. Return to Kota Kinabalu after lunch. (Breakfast & Lunch)

We booked three tours with Borneo Eco Tours before arriving in Borneo. The services offered by the booking team were fantastic. I asked a number of questions and received quick, helpful responses throughout the booking process. The website is also great with lots of information . Once booked I was provided with a booklet on things to do in advance and what to take on each tour - this confirmed the reviews I had read online that BET is an established, well organised business.
Mount Kinabalu Day Trip: We were collected by Adam (tour guide) with another guide driving the bus. We were provided with a pack and detailed itinerary of all our trips. There were two pairs on the tour so only four in the minibus. Adam provided us with lots of information about KK as we departed the city and proceeded to drive to Mt Kinabalu. We stopped at a market for a look / fruit stop / toilet stop en route. We got some good photos there. Our travel companions for the day were nature enthusiasts and had expressed an interest in seeing the biggest flower so we built this into the day. Also visited the treetop canopy walk (worth it), sulphar baths (didn't go in but don' think we missed out) and the botanical garden at Mt Kinabalu. Adam was so full of knowledge about the plants and wildlife - we were super impressed.
Quad Biking: Again collected at the hotel lobby at the designated time by Jason and Melvin. Driven out to Kiuli for the Quad Biking where we were greeted by Jo. This is a community project and provides Jo and his family with income and involves his local community. Quad bikes were new and clean. Good helmets and googles. There were four on our tour and we covered 20km on road off-road. Jo was fab, really caring and making sure that we were all comfortable going down awkward hills etc. At the end of the tour we were given noodles and juice that his aunt had made us. It really felt like part of the community. There was a random aussie chap on the bus home that wasn't explained who he was but we fell asleep almost immediately. A good way to see the countryside that you wouldn't ordinarily get to see.
3D 2N Borneo Eco-Lodge Tour: Wow. Collected at our hotel by Fernando who was super informative about the orangatuns and asked if I was a model so that obviously helped. Met the rest of the group at Sepilok for Orangatuns. Watched an interesting video about their plight, watched the feeding and headed to the nursery. Very well organised. Sun bear sanctuary next which was ace - they were so active!! Buffet lunch at the Sabah Hotel which was actually very good with lots of choice. We opted for the slightly cheaper option so were bussed to the Lodge whereas the rest of the group (20 people) were taken on boat. Bus had wifi and we were collected by a speedboat for the final 10 minutes. This worked to our advantage as we had a private bus and a private speedboat. Warmly greeted at the lodge which has been awarded a national geographic prize for unique lodges of the world. Room was great, comfy beds and a good bathroom but air con only during the day. Lots of unique crafts int he room which could be purchased. First river cruise in the pm with leaf monkey's, probscisos monkey's and hornbills seen. We had the official tour guide To steering our boat and he was knowledgeable and interesting. We understand the other half of the group didn;t have as good a guide. Food at the lodge was very good with variety. We bought some drinks from the bar and although slightly more expensive than the centre of KK or Sandakan these were not expensive by any means. We did the night cruise and would recommend as it offers a different dynamic to the cruising. You do have some spare time / time to yourself between the morning and afternoon cruises so bring a book / pack of cards. Orangutans happened to arrive in the garden of the lodge so To escorted us all out to see. Back into Sandakan for lunch, rain forest discovery centre and war memorial. All very interesting and we saw more orangutans in the wild.
Tour company are honestly fab and I would not hesitate to book another tour with them.

I recently did an overnight tour with Borneo Eco Tours into Kinabalu National Park - it was fantastic!
The booking process and inquiries were very easy and all of my emails were replied to very quickly - thanks Tommy!!
My tour included the Poring Hot Springs, a canopy walk, viewing and swimming at a waterfall, natural fish foot spa, war memorial and walks in the Kinabalu National Park. It was wonderful.
My guide - Sheila - was fantastic!! She was extremely friendly and as I was traveling by myself made me feel very welcome and comfortable! She was very knowledgeable and had great English. Thank you Sheila!!
I wish I had booked a longer tour with these guys - highly recommend to everyone.

Hi Just to say, we returned from our trip which was even better than last time!
Thanks you so much for giving us Felix and Suhaile, it was great to catch up with them again!
As ever, the staff at Sukau Rainforest Lodge were wonderful and looked after us very well.
We will be back next year!

The boat trips are like a live cinema of Kinabatangan wildlife. In our two-nights stay, we saw pygmy elephants, crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, snakes, plenty of beautiful birds, and one Orang Utan building the nest for the night. Walking in the jungle is an amazing experience but such open view of the animals is impossible - a stay on the river is the perfect complement to a trekking trip in the rainforest.
At the lodge, the atmoshphere is very cozy: the staff is genuinely friendly and kind, the guests are all there for the wildlife, the rooms are comfortable and charming, the food is simple but tasty. The staff heard that it was our honeymoon, so they beautifully decorated the room and prepared a special table on the river for us: TERIMA KASIH! :-)

Started up with 4 days Rainforest Eco Lodge, Kt Kinabalu and Turtle, ended up in letting Eco arrange hotel in KK before and after totally 9n/10d. All worked perfectly from pick up airport to send to airport. Thanks to drivers, guides and especially Cindy who arranged everything. Will definitely choose Eco again if come to Borneo, which might come true, as Sabah much better than expected.

We had an excellent two days with Borneo Eco Tours. They are a very professional company and everything was organised very well. All our guides were prompt, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.
I particularly recommend the day tour of Kinabalu Park. We had a great day and our guide Felix had a great knowledge of all the wildlife and plant species, he was constantly spotting birds and explaining things to us. He even spotted us a Giant Squirrel at Poring Hot Springs which was an excellent sighting!
I would not hesitate in recommending this company to friends and family.

First of all I like to thank you for all the recommendations and arrangements. Nearly everything worked out very well and the trip exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful time and consider ourselves to be very lucky, having seen orang utans, elephants, turtles and many other monkeys, birds etc. We also enjoyed and appreciated the guidance provided by your staff, in particular Stephen in Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Adam in Kota Kinabalu.

I wanted to write and thank you for the trip you organised for me in Borneo last month. I was very impressed indeed by Borneo ecotours and in particular by the care of the guides (esp Adrian, Fernando and Sheila). Please convey my thanks to them. I really hope to return to Borneo. All the best!

The tours we had (Turtle island, Sukau, Kinabalu Park, Poring and Gaya Island) were all absolutely top-brilliant! Our guides and drivers were all excellent and we were lucky enough to see a big range of flora and fauna we had hoped to see.
